Nortel has published the following bulletin:

On January 20, 2009 the Nortel Wireless LAN 2330A and 2330B Access Point will be moved from ACTIVE status to RETIRED status. Nortel recommends future 802.11a/b/g Access Point purchase replacement to be the WLAN2332 for your region. Customers would be required to upgrade to Release 6.0 when deploying WLAN 2332 Access Points.

Manufacture Discontinue (MD) - This notice serves as formal communication of Nortel Networks’ intent to MD the product(s) noted. No further orders will be accepted as of the Last Time Order Date shown above and no further shipments made after the product has been discontinued. The MD of these products should not be interpreted as the discontinuance of any Nortel Networks agreements to support the existing field population. Services to the existing product base will continue to be provided until the End of Life (EOL) date (January 20, 2014).

The WLAN Access Points 2332 require Release 6.0 software.

Post-Retirement Service Levels:

  1. After January 20, 2009 patch support and feature enhancements will be available with software service contracts.
  2. Hardware RMA available with best effort replacement for 5 years.
  3. Nortel does not recommend using a retired (unsupported) software release in existing WLAN 2330B, 2330A deployments.
