Support Headlines

This notice is to advise customers of the support status of various software for the Ethernet Routing Switch 8600 product line.  Products at EOL (End of Life) status receive no support from Nortel and limited support from VOX Network Solutions.  Products at MD (Manufacture Discontinued) status receive limited support from VOX and Nortel and are no longer available for sale.  EoS (End of Sale) status receive full support from VOX and Nortel and are no longer available for sale.  GA (Generally Available) status receive full support from VOX and Nortel and are available for sale.

This notice is to communicate an extension to the life cycle for the Release 4.1 software.

• v5.0 is GA as of June 16, 2008
• v4.1 is GA as of June 23, 2006 and will transition to EoS on March 31, 2009.  It will transition to MD on September 30, 2009 and will become EOL on June 16, 2011.  All customers are encouraged to upgrade to the latest GA release before March 31, 2009.
• v4.0 is MD as of June 23, 2007 and will transition to EOL on June 23, 2009. All customers are encouraged to upgrade to the latest GA release before June 23, 2009.
• All releases prior to v4.0 are EOL and will receive limited or no support.  VOX will provide best effort upgrade support for all customers transitioning to the latest GA software. All customers are encouraged to upgrade immediately.
